Drilling down, this is related to dynamic channel ce_count attribute
files sporting a S_IWUSR mode without a ->store() function. Looking
around, it appears that they aren't supposed to have a ->store()
function. So remove the bogus write permission to get rid of the
warning.

batman-adv: reorder clean up routine in order to avoid race conditions

nc_worker accesses the originator table during its periodic
work, but since the originator table is freed before
stopping the worker this leads to a global protection fault.

Fix this by killing the worker (in nc_free) before freeing
the originator table.

Moreover tidy up the entire clean up routine by running all
the subcomponents freeing procedures first and then killing
the TT and the originator tables at the end.

In the outgoing ARP request snooping routine in DAT, ARP
Request sent by local clients which are supposed to be
replied by other local clients can be silently dropped.

The destination host will reply by itself through the LAN
and therefore there is no need to involve DAT.

KVM: emulator: emulate SALC

This is an almost-undocumented instruction available in 32-bit mode.
I say "almost" undocumented because AMD documents it in their opcode
maps just to say that it is unavailable in 64-bit mode (sections
"A.2.1 One-Byte Opcodes" and "B.3 Invalid and Reassigned Instructions
in 64-Bit Mode").

It is roughly equivalent to "sbb %al, %al" except it does not
set the flags.  Use fastop to emulate it, but do not use the opcode
directly because it would fail if the host is 64-bit!

x86/microcode: Add local mutex to fix physical CPU hot-add deadlock

This can easily be triggered if a new CPU is added (via
ACPI hotplug mechanism) and from user-space you do:

   echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online

(or wait for UDEV to do it) on a newly appeared physical CPU.

The deadlock is that the "store_online" in drivers/base/cpu.c
takes the cpu_hotplug_driver_lock() lock, then calls "cpu_up".
"cpu_up" eventually ends up calling "save_mc_for_early"
which also takes the cpu_hotplug_driver_lock() lock.

And here is that lockdep thinks of it:

would potentially fail to flush the correct lines.

The problem was dorment for so long because up until the recent

IRQ handlers are expected to run with IRQs disabled.
See e.g. http://lwn.net/Articles/380931/ for a longer story.

This was overlooked in the commit
  2d1c645 xtensa: dispatch medium-priority interrupts
Revert to old behavior and simplify interrupt entry and exit code.
Interrupt handler still honours IRQ priority.

do_notify_resume/schedule must be called with interrupts enabled, enable
interrupts if we return from user exception.

xtensa: provide custom CALLER_ADDR* implementations

Definition of CALLER_ADDR* through __builtin_return_address makes
compiler insert calls to __xtensa_libgcc_window_spill, which in turn
makes fast_syscall_spill_registers syscall that clobbers registers when
called from the kernel mode, leading to invalid opcode exceptions on
return to userspace.

Provide definition for CALLER_ADDR0 as MAKE_PC_FROM_RA(a0, a1) and in
case CONFIG_FRAME_POINTER is enabled extract CALLER_ADDR{1-3} from
stack.

Fix access_ok macro no to permit
case where user will try to access
the last address space which is equal
to segment address.

Example:
segment addr = 0xbfff ffff
address = 0xbfff fff0
size = 0x10

Current wrong implementation
0xbfff ffff >= (0xbfff fff0 | 0x10 | (0xbfff fff0 + 0x10))
0xbfff ffff >= (0xbfff fff0        | 0xc000 0000)
0xbfff ffff >= 0xf000 0000
return 0 which is access failed even the combination is valid.
because get_fs().seq returns the last valid address.

This patch fix this problem.

Size equals to zero is valid access.

watchdog: Fix race condition in registration code

A race condition exists when registering the first watchdog device.
Sequence of events:

- watchdog_register_device calls watchdog_dev_register
- watchdog_dev_register creates the watchdog misc device by calling
  misc_register.
  At that time, the matching character device (/dev/watchdog0) does not yet
  exist, and old_wdd is not set either.
- Userspace gets an event and opens /dev/watchdog
- watchdog_open is called and sets wdd = old_wdd, which is still NULL,
  and tries to dereference it. This causes the kernel to panic.

Seen with systemd trying to open /dev/watchdog immediately after
it was created.

The invalid guest state emulation loop does not check halt_request
which causes 100% cpu loop while guest is in halt and in invalid
state, but more serious issue is that this leaves halt_request set, so
random instruction emulated by vm86 #GP exit can be interpreted
as halt which causes guest hang. Fix both problems by handling
halt_request in emulation loop.

Any changes to parent images are immaterial to any mapped clone.
So there is no need to have a watch event registered on header
objects except for the header object of an image that is mapped.
In fact, a watch request is a write operation, and we may only
have read access to a parent image.

We can't set up the watch request until we know the name of the
header object though.  So pass a flag to rbd_dev_image_probe() to
indicate whether this probe is for a mapping or for a parent image.

Change the second parameter to rbd_dev_header_watch_sync() be
Boolean while we're at it.

Since rbd_image_probe() is used both for images being mapped and
their parents, it doesn't make sense to set that flag in that
function.

So move the setting of the mapping.read_only flag out of
rbd_dev_image_probe() and into rbd_add() instead.

There is a new DELL WMI spec. with new WMI event format.
I'm working on the AIO machines, but I think the new format will apply to
all the Dell's machines, not only for AIO, which will be released later
this year.

The new format of the WMI buffer is shown as below
word 0 - the number of words following in the WMI buffer(not including
        this word.
word 1 - the event type
0x0000 - A hot key is pressed or an event occurred
0x000F - A sequence of hot keys are pressed
word 2 and on - the event data

If DEBUG_LL and earlyprintk are enabled, and omap-serial.c is compiled
as a module, the kernel boot hangs early as the clocks for serial port
are cut while earlyprintk still uses the port.

The problem is a race between the late_initcall for omap_device (which
idles devices that have no drivers) and the late_initcall in
kernel/printk.c which turns off the earlyconsole.   Any printks
that happen between this omap_device late initcall and the earlyconsole
late initcall will crash when accessing the UART.

The fix is to ensure the omap_device initcall happens after the
earlyconsole initcall.

Commit 9fdca9df (spi: omap2-mcspi: convert to module_platform_driver)
broke the SPI display/panel driver probe on RX-51/N900. The exact cause is
not fully understood, but it seems to be related to the probe order. SPI
communication to the panel driver (spi1.2) fails unless the touchscreen
(spi1.0) has been probed/initialized before. When the omap2-mcspi driver
was converted to a platform driver, it resulted in that the devices are
probed immediately after the board registers them in the order they are
listed in the board file.

Fix the issue by moving the touchscreen before the panel in the SPI
device list.

The patch fixes the following failure:

[    1.265899] panel-acx565akm display0: acx_panel_probe panel detect error
[    1.273071] omapdss CORE error: driver probe failed: -19

cifs: only set ops for inodes in I_NEW state

It's generally not safe to reset the inode ops once they've been set. In
the case where the inode was originally thought to be a directory and
then later found to be a DFS referral, this can lead to an oops when we
try to trigger an inode op on it after changing the ops to the blank
referral operations.

ARM: dts: OMAP4: Fix ethernet IRQ for OMAP4 boards

Commit ff5c9059 (ARM: dts: OMAP3+: Correct gpio #interrupts-cells
property) updated the number of interrupt cells required for configuring
gpios as interrupts for other devices (such as ethernet controllers).
This update allowed the interrupt type (edge, level, etc) to be
configured via device-tree (as described in the
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/gpio/gpio-omap.txt).

This broke ethernet support on the OMAP4 SDP board that defines a gpio
as the ethernet IRQ because the interrupt type (level, edge, etc) was
not getting configured correctly. This board use the ks8851 ethernet
chip which has an active low interrupt. Fix this by defining the gpio
interrupt as active-low in the device-tree binding.

Please note that the OMAP4-VAR-SOM also uses the same ethernet
controller and it is expected it will have the same problem. So the
same fix is also applied to this board.

mm/slab: Fix crash during slab init

Commit 8a965b3baa89 ("mm, slab_common: Fix bootstrap creation of kmalloc
caches") introduced a regression that caused us to crash early during
boot.  The commit was introducing ordering of slab creation, making sure
two odd-sized slabs were created after specific powers of two sizes.

But, if any of the power of two slabs were created earlier during boot,
slabs at index 1 or 2 might not get created at all.  This patch makes
sure none of the slabs get skipped.

Tony Lindgren bisected this down to the offending commit, which really
helped because bisect kept bringing me to almost but not quite this one.

rbd: define rbd_dev_v2_header_info()

This rearranges rbd_dev_v2_refresh() so it works more like
rbd_dev_v1_header_info().  While format 1 images need to read the
whole header object to get any information, format 2 can collect
almost all information selectively.  So the one-time initialization
will remain in a separate function--based on rbd_dev_v2_probe().

Rename rbd_dev_v2_refresh() to be rbd_dev_v2_header_info(), and have
it call rbd_dev_v2_header_onetime() if it's being called for the
first time for the given rbd device.

Rename rbd_dev_v2_probe() to be rbd_dev_v2_header_onetime() and
remove the image size and snapshot context calls it held in
common with the refresh function.

An rbd_dev structure's fields are all zero-filled for an initial
probe, so there's no need to explicitly zero the parent_spec
and parent_overlap fields in rbd_dev_v1_probe().  Removing these
assignments makes rbd_dev_v1_probe() *almost* trivial.

Move the dout() message that announces discovery of an image into
rbd_dev_image_probe(), generalize to support images in either format
and only show it if an image is fully discovered.

This highlights that are some unnecessary cleanups in the error
path for rbd_dev_v1_probe(), so they can be removed.

Now rbd_dev_v1_probe() *is* a trivial wrapper function.

rbd: update in-core header directly

Now that rbd_header_from_disk() only fills in one-time fields once,
we can extend it slightly so it releases the other fields before
replacing their values.  This way there's no need to pass a
temporary buffer and then copy all the results in.  Just use the rbd
device header structure in rbd_header_from_disk() so its values get
updated directly.

Note that this means we need to take the header semaphore at the
point we update things.  So pass the rbd_dev rather than the address
of its header as its first argument to rbd_header_from_disk(), and
have it return an error code.

As a result, rbd_dev_v1_header_read() does all the work,
rbd_read_header() becomes unnecessary, and rbd_dev_v1_refresh()
becomes a very simple wrapper.

Unlike meta data server mounts which support multiple mount points to
the same server via struct nfs_server, data servers support a single connection.

Concurrent calls to setup the data server connection can race where the first
call allocates the nfs_client struct, and before the cache struct nfs_client
pointer can be set, a second call also tries to setup the connection, finds the
already allocated nfs_client, bumps the reference count, re-initializes the
session,etc. This results in a hanging data server session after umount.

A small bug in this code was causing the ALLMULTI filter to be set
when in fact we were just wanting to program a selective multicast list
to the hardware.

Fix that bug and remove a redundant if condition in the code that
follows.

This fixes wakeup behaviour when multicast WOL is enabled. Previously,
all multicast packets would wake up the system. Now, only those that the
host intended to receive trigger wakeups.

This can be readily reproduced when putting the XO-4 in a loop where
it goes to sleep due to inactivity, but then wakes up due to an
incoming ping. The error is hit within an hour or two.

This issue happens when an interrupt comes in early while host sleep
is still activated. Driver handles this case by auto cancelling host
sleep. However is_suspended flag is still set which prevents any cmd
or data from being sent to firmware. Fix it by clearing is_suspended
flag in this path.

iwl4965: workaround connection regression on passive channel

Jake reported that since commit 1672c0e31917f49d31d30d79067103432bc20cc7
"mac80211: start auth/assoc timeout on frame status", he is unable to
connect to his AP, which is configured to use passive channel.

After switch to passive channel 4965 firmware drops any TX packet until
it receives beacon. Before commit 1672c0e3 we waited on channel and
retransmit packet after 200ms, that makes we receive beacon on the
meantime and association process succeed. New mac80211 behaviour cause
that any ASSOC frame fail immediately on iwl4965 and we can not
associate.

This patch restore old mac80211 behaviour for iwl4965, by removing
IEEE80211_HW_REPORTS_TX_ACK_STATUS feature. This feature will be
added again to iwl4965 driver, when different, more complex
workaround for this firmware issue, will be added to the driver.

B43: Handle DMA RX descriptor underrun

Add handling of rx descriptor underflow. This fixes a fault that could
happen on slow machines, where data is received faster than the CPU can
handle. In such a case the device will use up all rx descriptors and
refuse to send any more data before confirming that it is ok. This
patch enables necessary interrupt to discover such a situation and will
handle them by dropping everything in the ring buffer.

You can see oops in one hour.

The reason is fec_restart clear BD but NAPI may use it.
The solution is disable NAPI and stop xmit when reset BD.
disable NAPI may sleep, so fec_restart can't be call in
atomic context.

Fix to return a negative error code from the error handling
case instead of 0, as done elsewhere in this function.
